Lidl would like to open a new local foodstore and provide new open recreational space off Malmesbury Road in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Before a planning application is submitted to Wiltshire Council we would like to know what the community thinks about the plans.
This website provides details of the planning application which will be submitted to Wiltshire Council. If you have any questions about the proposals, please email lidlrwb@new-stores.co.uk. or call 0800 089 0361. To ‘Have Your Say’ on the proposals, please click here.
The site is located off Malmesbury Road (B4042), towards the north of Royal Wootton Bassett.
The site is ideally located for residents with close access to bus stops and is walking distance to central Royal Wootton Bassett. The new Lidl store would be accessed from Malmesbury Road.
The site is currently a private field which is inaccessible to the community. The proposed woodland and open space would open up the site for the whole community to enjoy.
A new 2.15-hectare community open space is proposed west of the Lidl store. This green space would centre upon two lakes serving as amenity and drainage features and include:
A new native woodland would be planted to the north-east of the site alongside wider hedgerow retention and further shrub planting. This will add to the site’s biodiversity credentials and help to contain views of the site.
